Mabel Anderson

Mabel Anderson, 90, of Two Harbors, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Ecumen Assisted Living in Two Harbors with her husband, Robert, at her side.
Mabel was born July 10, 1927 to Fritz and Ida (Knutson) Johnson in Two Harbors. She grew up at Split Rock and in Two Harbors. She attended grade school in Beaver Bay, MN. Mabel graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1945. She married Robert “Candy” Anderson July 21, 1945. Mabel was a homemaker, as well as worked as an office manager for the family business, a store clerk and later worked at Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich Publishing for several years. She enjoyed art, sewing, crafts and needle point.
Mabel was a member of Knife River Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Vasa Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Anna and brother Fritz Jr.
Mabel is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Michael (Sandy), and Brian; daughters, Kathleen Anderson, and Elizabeth (William) Thompson; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service on Saturday September 30, 2017 at Knife River Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Lake County Humane Society.
