Bill Thomas, 73, Two Harbors, died Sunday April 2, 2017 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness, with his family at his side.
Bill was born July 12, 1943 to Carl and Leona (Sauter) Thomas in Bismarck, ND and grew up and graduated from high school in Minnetonka. After serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War, Bill returned to Minnesota, married Pauline Weborg and they raised their family on the North Shore. He worked as a resort and restaurant manager, truck and bus driver, and social worker.
Bill was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, movies, music, and above all, time spent with family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Antoinette “Toni”.
He is survived by his children, Pennie (Dan Johnson) Bourgeois of Cloquet, Shawn (Angela) Thomas of Grand Rapids, and Ginger (David) Jensen of Duluth; grandchildren, Autumn Rose Bourgeois, William Tracy Thomas, and Jackson Beau Thomas; friend and former wife, Pauline (Tracy) Zimmerman; siblings, Patrick (Dana) Thomas and Elizabeth (Claus) Rohr; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4-7 on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
