He was born August 16, 1930, to Harry and Freda (Marker) Peters in Two Harbors, where he was a lifelong resident. Jerry was employed by Lake County News Chronicle for 32 years and was a paper carrier for the Duluth Herald for 31 years.
He was a member of the United Church, Two Harbors and was named Jaycees Citizen of the Year for 1975 and Two Harbors High School Boys Basketball Fan of the Year.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lyle Peters.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Leone Peters; nieces, Lynn (Jim) Grandson and Lori Gnahn; five grand nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until Noon on Monday October 2, 2023. Private graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Two Harbors.
