Virginia Cummings

Virginia C. “Ginger” Cummings, 77, Tofte, died Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Essentia Health- St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Ginger was born June 15, 1943 to Alden and Mildred (Clow) Swenson in Evansville, MN where she grew up before the family moved to Tofte in 1953.  Virginia graduated from Cook County High School in 1961 and married Thomas Cummings the same year.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening, partridge hunting, snowmobiling, card playing, time at the family cabin on Clara Lake, winters in Arizona and Florida, and time with family and friends.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Glen Swenson.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Tom; daughters, Kim Blomberg and Karmen (David) Lockwood; grandchildren, Kali and Robert Blomberg; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn and Brooklyn Nelson; and sisters, Marietta Drouillard and Victoria Weisz.

Private services will be held.
