Violet Franklin

December 14, 1925 — December 19, 2016

Violet M. Franklin, 91, formerly of Silver Bay, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, with her family at her side, Monday December 19, 2016 at Franciscan Health in Duluth.

She was born December 14, 1925 to Elmer and Annie (Leverson) Robinson in Chetek, Wisconsin, where she grew up and attended school. As a young lady, she moved to Detroit where she worked on parachutes and assembled airplanes during WWII.  She lived in many locations until moving to Silver Bay in 1956.

Violet was a member of the Beaver Bay Assembly of God, and enjoyed berry and agate picking, fishing, singing, and playing her guitar and omnichord or any other instrument that came her way. Most important to her was time spent with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald; brothers, Stuart and Marvin, and sisters, Dorothy and Ethel.

Violet is survived by her sons, Greg (Sheree) King of Finland and Bill of Silver Bay; daughters, Marilynn (Bob) Willis of Two Harbors, and Diane (Kent) Lundahl of Duluth; brothers, Malvin (Helen) Robinson of Silver Bay; and Daryl “Buddy” (Marlys) Robinson of Chetek; sisters, Genevieve “Jenny” Ganske, Marlys Olson, Donna (Bob) Unbehuan, Margaret (Lance) Lyons, Charlotte (Gary) Muermann all of Chetek; grandchildren, Melissa, Mathew, Bobby, April, Rick, Jacob, and Kristen, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Barross Cottages and Franciscan Health for the care they gave Vi in her last years.

Visitation will be from 1 PM until the 2 PM service on Friday December 23, 2016 at the Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors.  Burial will be in Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery.
