Valenda Laska

Valenda K. Laska, 53, Two Harbors, died suddenly on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Lake View Memorial Hospital. She was born February 19, 1957 to Amos and Shirley (DuBois) Johnson in Red Wing, where she grew up and attended schools until moving to Florida when she was 15 years old. After graduating from Merritt Island High School she worked as a nurse's aide in Florida for several years. She married Rob Laska in 1994 in Jupiter, Florida and together they moved to Silver Bay in 2002 and to Two Harbors in 2006. Valenda worked in food preparation at Bluefin Bay in Tofte, and Vanilla Bean CafAC. and Judy's CafAC. in Two Harbors. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Barry Johnson. Valenda enjoyed knitting, movies, and walking her dog. She will be remembered for her sense of humor. Valenda is survived by her husband, Rob; sisters, Bonnie Majerus of Duluth, Judy Adkins of Boynton Beach, Florida and Kim Landers of Rockledge, Florida; brothers, Craig Johnson of Lake Park, Florida and John Johnson of Merritt Island, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
