Timothy Woodwick

Timothy (Tim) Alan Woodwick, age 49, of Silver Bay, Minnesota, suffered a heart attack and died Sunday, May 14, 2017. Tim was born in Minneapolis on March 14, 1968, to Alan and Carole Woodwick. Tim and his two sisters grew up on Lake Byllesby before moving to a hobby farm in Kenyon, Minnesota. Tim graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1986 and spent time at the University of Minnesota at Waseca before eventually moving to Silver Bay.

Tim married Teresa (Anderson) Woodwick of Silver Bay on May 7, 1994. Tim and Teresa have two sons, Taylor (now 22) and Trevor (now 21), and lived in St. Francis on the Rum River for several years before moving back to Silver Bay in 2009. Tim was a highly skilled carpenter and specialized in remodeling homes and other contract carpentry and finishing work. He was dedicated to his craft and took considerable pride in the quality of his work.

Tim and Teresa were drawn to the North Shore of Lake Superior because of its natural beauty and his love of fishing and hunting. They bought a small cabin in the woods near Finland, MN, which became their weekend getaway. As a family they enjoyed hiking, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing on nearby lakes and rivers. Tim was an avid hunter and especially looked forward to spending time with his boys and other family and friends at “deer camp” every fall.

Tim is survived by his wife Teresa (Anderson) Woodwick, sons Taylor Alan Woodwick and Trevor Jon Woodwick, his mother Carole (Jensen) Woodwick, sister Kimberly (Woodwick) Brastad and brother-in-law Mike Brastad, sister Teryl Woodwick Sides and brother-in-law Mike Sides with their three children Mikalie Sides (15), Mitchell Sides (13), and Macie Sides (13).

Tim is also survived by several of his wife’s family, including his father-in-law Curt Anderson, mother-in-law Paula Anderson, and Teresa’s brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Alan Woodwick, maternal grandparents Ingolf and Elizabeth Jensen, and paternal grandparents Louis and Edna Woodwick.

Tim also leaves behind his beloved hunting dog, Lacie, along with many friends and extended family members. Tim will live in our hearts and memories as a very strong, reliable, and hard-working husband, father, brother, son, and friend.

Services will be held Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Baptism River Community Church in Finland, MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. A private family interment service will be held at Lutsen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
