Tim Carroll

November 16, 1960 — October 21, 2015

Tim Carroll, 54, died suddenly Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his home in New Brighton. He was born on November 16, 1960 to Donald and Harriet (Larson) Carroll in Duluth.

Tim grew up and attended school in Two Harbors and later lived in the Duluth area.  Nancy (Freeberg) Kluznik (sister and guardian) had a special relationship with him and recently moved him to New Brighton to be closer to her.

Tim was a delight to his family and those around him. Born with Down’s Syndrome he lived in the moment and was an example of how to appreciate the beauty of life. He loved accordion music and played accordion himself. He was a happy fan of the Lawrence Welk Show and especially enjoyed listening to his favorite accordionist, Myron Floren.  He loved McDonald’s cheeseburgers and fried chicken. Good music and good food made for a perfect day. He loved to draw construction plans, complete word-find puzzles and someday aspired to be a paramedic. He charmed people with his pleasant personality and sense of humor.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chuck Freeberg and is survived by sisters Nancy (Ted) Kluznik of Woodbury and Ann (Brian) Dwyer of Duluth, 9 nieces and nephews, 3 great-nephews, and 4 great-nieces.

The family is grateful for Tim’s many loving caregivers from Capstone, REM, Airpark in Duluth and the Day Activities Center in Two Harbors for their kindness to Tim.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10 am with memorial service following at 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 601 4th Ave in Two Harbors.  A luncheon will follow at the church.
