Thomas Charles Ludolph, 75, Silver Bay, MN died Sunday, December 11, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Tom was born May 31, 1947 to Thomas F. and Alice M. (Simpson) Ludolph in Waterloo, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in Waterloo and Evansdale, and after graduating from Waterloo East High School in 1965, he attended apprenticeship training for the bricklayers trade. On August 14, 1976 Tom married Lucia (Thoma) Davis in Waterloo. Tom worked for several contractors, notably Hanna Masonry, Seedorff Masonry and Carl Schuler Masonry. After moving to Silver Bay in 1998, he continued his bricklaying career until retiring in 2007.

Tom was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and achieved life member status in 2019.  While in Iowa, he was very active in his union’s local chapter as an officer, recruiter, and contract negotiator.

Tom entered the Masonic Order in 1984 as a member of the Martin Lodge in Waterloo. He paraded for the El Kahir Shriner’s Club with the Potentate’s Escort Unit. After moving to Minnesota he joined Taconite Lodge in Silver Bay.

He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping, and summers with his family at their cabin on Harriet Lake.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Keith “Ricky” and Gary.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lucia; children, Rodney, Sean (Lucia), Thomas “Tommy”, Lydia, and Charles “Eddie” (Kirsten); grandchildren, Castiel, Nova, Henrie, Iris, and Abigail expected soon; sisters, Lora (Jamie) Hickman, Linda (Victor) Gutierrez, and Janice (Tony) Fowler; and a brother, Kurt (Heidi) Ludolph; and a special sister-in-law, Tammy (Mike) Schell.

Masonic services were held at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, Iowa, followed by burial in Sancta Maria Cemetery.
