Theodore Wahlberg

December 20, 1919 — January 28, 2011

Theodore K. Wahlberg of Two Harbors died Friday January 28, 2011 at the Sunrise Home. He was born December 20, 1919 in Larsmont, the son of Carl and Ada (Anderson) Wahlberg. Ted attended schools in Larsmont and Two Harbors. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and entered military service in March, 1942. Ted married Ruth Jensen on April 15, 1943. He served in the US Infantry and Army Air Force, graduating in Class 44-K as a pilot in February of 1945.

Ted was employed as a brakeman and conductor by the DM&IR Railroad and retired in January of 1980. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and the Lake County Historical Society.

His parents and four brothers, Clifford, George, Wilbert, and Glen precede him in death.

Ted is survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Pixie (John) Haveri of Two Harbors; grandchildren; John (Shannon) Haveri of Two Harbors, Rob (Sara) Haveri of Duluth, and Shelly (Cory) Olson of Hinckley; great-grandchildren, Emily, Kristin, and Amanda Haveri, Logan and Madison Haveri, and Lindsey, Chloe, and Lynnea Olson; and AFS Student, Raffaella Curti and her family of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Visitaion will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
