Shirley Davies
November 4, 1920 — February 14, 2013
Shirley J. Davies of Two Harbors passed away Thursday February 14th after a brief stay in Hospice at St. Luke's Hospital. Shirley was born on November 4th, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Clifford and Leta Pierce.
She graduated from Miss Wood's Kindergarten and Primary Training School in Minneapolis. She also attended U of M and Mankato State College.
Shirley taught school in Bricelyn, Richfield, and Bloomington MN.
She was a member of the United Church of Two Harbors.
Shirley enjoyed reading, painting landscapes, planting flower gardens, snowshoeing, watching mysteries, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert of 54 years of marriage.
She is survived by her four children, Robert, James, Thomas, and Mary Davies; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the Noon Service on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at United Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park in Duluth.
