Shirley A. Carlson, 75, of Two Harbors died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 24, 1935 to John and Esther (Erickson) Chipperi in Ironwood, Michigan where she grew up and attended schools. Shirley moved to Two Harbors in 1956 and was employed at Coleman Bait and Encampment Forest Association.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, fishing, going for car rides, spending time with her family, and card games with her grandchildren.
Shirley was a member of Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorie Sears; and brothers, Melvin and Dale Chipperi.
Shirley is survived by her husband Robert; daughters Terry (Rich) Moen, Sandy (Tom) Carlson, and Deborah Nelson; son, Dennis (Wendy) Carlson, all of Two Harbors; grandchildren JJ Hraban, Mandi Hraban, Shawn Carlson, Corey Carlson, Jeremy Carlson, Tyler Carlson, Casey Carlson, Tanya Nelson, and Matt Nelson; great-grandchildren Ajha Hansen, Chloe Carlson, and Maycee Hraban.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the Memorial Service at Noon on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. A lunch at the Moose Lodge will follow.
