Sandra Johnson

Sandra Johnson, 70, of Grand Portage, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Cook County North Shore Care Center in Grand Marais.
She was born on March 16, 1944 to Kenneth Vincent and Dorothy B. (Clark) Sherer in Chicago, IN. Sandra grew up in Grand Portage.
Sandra was a member of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood cutting, rides up Mineral Center Road, keno, and time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ronnie Sherer, Stewart Sherer, Delores Dinger, Lyle Sherer, and Kenneth "Fatty" Sherer; and her significant other, Tony Le Sage.
She is survived by the father of her children, Claude "Bunk" Johnson; her children, Claude (Tammy) Johnson, Roberta (Steve) Hahn, Elizabeth (Joey) Young, Howard (Michelle) Johnson, Earl (Jennifer) Johnson, and Jimmy (Kari) Johnson; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Robert Sherer, Barbara Hakala, Cheryl Kauppi, Janis Deschampe, Elizabeth Simmons, Marlys Sherer, Melvin Sherer, Marlene Myers, and Joan Johnson.
Services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Holy Rosary Church in Grand Portage.
