Ruth E Roberts

Ruth was born May 27, 1917 to Horace and Ada (Tippet)  Andrews in Two Harbors where she was a lifelong resident.  After graduating from high school in 1935, she attended Duluth Business University and was employed at Commercial State Bank from 1937-1946.  Ruth married Dolph Roberts on November 9, 1946 and they were married for 52 years until his death in 1998.  Ruth enjoyed her life as a homemaker and loved caring for her family through the years.

In her early years, Ruth was a member of Wesley Methodist and United Churches and after her son Don’s ordination in 1975, she became a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.  She was also an 88 year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dolph.

She is survived by a son, Donald (Bonnie) Roberts; a daughter, Betty (Dennis Peterson) Blettner; grandchildren, Jeremy (Brandi) Roberts, Paul (Heather) Roberts, Katie (William) Sordahl, Stacey (Scott) Dunbar and Christina (Josh) Nelson; step-grandson, Alex Peterson;  and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jack Roberts, Jordan Roberts, Erik, Isaak, and Anderson Sordahl, Sibley, Masyn, and Westyn Dunbar, and Olivia and Rosalyn Nelson.

Our thanks to Barross Cottages and St. Luke’s Hospice staff for their loving care and support; for the prayers and visits from Pastor Ben at Emmanuel; the prayers from Bethlehem-Mankato; and many friends over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Emmanuel Lutheran- Two Harbors, Bethlehem Lutheran-Mankato, or ALS Association.
