Two Harbors

Ruth Lucille Bigelow, 81, Two Harbors, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the CentraCare Health Center in Monticello, just 12 days after her husband, Ron.

Ruth was born May 20, 1938 to Algot and Eleanor (Patrick) Bergquist in Two Harbors, where she was a life-long resident. Ruth graduated from high school in 1956 and on October 20, 1956 she and Ron were married. Ruth was a member of the United Church and its various women’s groups.

Ruth was employed through the years and retired from SuperOne Foods in 2001. She would tell you the best thing about her job was the connections she made with the people in the community, along the shore, and those who made Two Harbors their home during the summer months. Ruth was a true people person and had the gift of making people feel like they were family.  Ruth and Ron enjoyed traveling and had many wonderful adventures; including their cruise on the Love Boat. But when all was said and done being with her family gave her the greatest pleasure.

In addition to her husband Ron, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Nancy Geving.

She is survived by her sons, Rick (Lori) of Monticello and Randy of Vadnais Heights; grandchildren, Matthew and Olivia; and special friends Karen, Arlene, and Shirley.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the United Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
