Ron Anderson, 74, Two Harbors, died Saturday March 17, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born October 24, 1943 to Carl and Eunice (Erickson) Anderson in Duluth, where he graduated from Central High School. Grub joined the Navy during the Vietnam War and served aboard the U.S.S. Kearsarge. In 1966, he married Judy Werschay and together they made their home in Two Harbors. Grub was employed at Reserve Mining until joining the Laborer’s Local # 563. During this time, he worked on a number of highway construction projects, most notably the Silver Creek Tunnels.
Grub was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping, and spending time in the woods. He was particularly proud of the log cabin he built by hand on 40 acres in Toimi.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Ryan, Evan, and Abigail.
Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy; daughters, Kerri (Joel) Nelson of Soldotna, Alaska, Kelli (Kevin) Sweatt, and Kim (Steve) Graden both of Two Harbors; a son, Ken (Stephanie) Anderson of Two Harbors; grandchildren Chloe, Ellie, Coel, Emily, Claire, Kerissa, Sean, Tyler, Lucas, and Cooper; and brother Walter (Wendy) Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Bassett Town Hall.
