Robert Henry Pelto

Robert Henry Pelto of Two Harbors, age 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Bayshore Healthcare in Duluth on Friday, March 21, 2025.

He was born September 24, 1940 to Ida Salo and Henry Pelto of Two Harbors, MN. Robert attended schools in Two Harbors, graduating from THHS in 1958.

Robert served in the Army during 1963-1965. He worked steaming ore for the DM&IR during his junior and senior years, laying track, and later sailing on the Lake as Coal Tender for 6 years. Robert was employed by the City of Two Harbors for several years at the Power Plant/ Water Treatment Plant.

He was married to Lois Hraban Yeager in Reno, Nevada on December 4, 1982, residing on South Avenue. Robert was the last of the South Avenue Proud Finns.

An avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman, Robert enjoyed his time outdoors.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence “Clink”; and sister, Dorothy Dahl.

He is survived by his sister, Barb Anderson of Duluth; wife, Lois and her children Cheryl, Louis “Butch”, Laurie, Joe, Mary, Renee, and Bobbi Jo; 10 grandchildren; nephews Andrew Pelto and Jim and David Dahl; niece, Mary Dahl all of California; his “special caregivers”, Tim and Hayley Horgan; and his special friend Jack Ingelin of Babbitt.

At Robert’s request, no service will be held.
