Robert Otterblad

Robbie Otterblad, 55, of Silver Bay, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 3, 2012.

Robbie was born on August 3, 1956 in Duluth although he grew up and lived most of his life in Silver Bay. After graduating from high school in 1974 he attended Duluth Vo-Tech. He was employed as a welder at LaBounty Manufacturing in Two Harbors and Reserve and North Shore Mining in Silver Bay.

Robbie enjoyed fishing, agate picking, photography, and most importantly sharing the joy of his salvation.

He was a former Silver Bay City Council member and was an avid Mariner basketball fan.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and George Hawthorne and Alf and Nellie Otterblad; and brother-in-law "Timer" Furness.

He is survived by his children, Samuel Otterblad, Carrie Otterblad (Joe Lorenzi), and Daniel Heinzen and their mother Teresa (Heinzen) Judkins; brothers and sisters, Diane, Reed, Michael, Greg, and Robin; uncle Kermit (Alice) Otterblad; and special "out-law" Michael Scheidt. "Keep your stick on the ice."

Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Bay Area Vineyard in Silver Bay.
