ROBERT "MUZZ" MERRITT
Bob Merritt, 69, Two Harbors, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Golden Living Center in St Paul.
He was born March 9, 1942 to John and Betty Merritt in Superior, WI. Bob grew up and attended schools in Two Harbors, graduating in 1960. He served two stints in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Navy, he worked as a boiler operator and in the refrigeration industry, most recently at the University of Minnesota.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, remodeling projects, and his role as supervisor on various projects.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger.
He is survived by sons Bob (Phyllis) of Michigan and Ray (Shannon) of Two Harbors; daughter Trisha Klinker of Two Harbors; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Elaine (Joe) Rollins of Silver Bay, Peggy (Doug) Muklebust of Akeley, MN, Kay Kramer of Edina, Linda (Bill) Kuchta of Two Harbors, and Mary (Terry) Simola of Iron, MN; brothers Randy (Barb) of Schroeder and Roy (Trish) of Surprise, AZ; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
