Robert Braaten

Robert M. Braaten, 71, Two Harbors, died Saturday September 13, 2014 at Ecumen Scenic Shores.
Bob was born November 18, 1942 in Halstad, Minnesota to Martin and Illa (Asmundson) Braaten. He grew up on the family farm in Nielsville and attended schools in Climax, and later North Dakota State University. Bob married Joyce Lima on July 26, 1963 and they lived in Drayton, ND for a short time before moving to the North Shore in October 1963. Bob was employed as boat loader for Reserve Mining Company and later Cyprus Mining and North Shore Mining retiring in 2002.
Bob enjoyed his cars, and the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arlen.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Bobbi (Dan) Larson; two sons, Keith and Wade all of Two Harbors; two grandchildren, Jenni (Nick) Patterson and Alan Larson (fiance', Amy); and his first great-grandchild expected soon.
Services will be held at 1 PM Friday September 19, 2014 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
