Rita Larson

Rita Ann Larson, 68, of Grand Portage, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born on June 19, 1950 to William and Mary (Hunter) Deschampe in Cloquet.  Rita Ann grew up in Grand Portage and attended schools at Grand Portage Elementary, graduated from Cook County High School, and attended Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) in Kansas City.

She worked for many years in Grand Portage at the Radisson, C.A.P., Housing Director, Human Services, Land Use Committee, and was also dedicated to Waaban the Chemical Dependency program.

In her free time, Rita enjoyed fishing, bingo, fundraisers playing her favorite game keno, and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Yvonne and Elaine.

Rita is survived by her children, Alicia, Amanda, and Adam; grandchildren, Torilyn, Aysha, Aiden (AJ) and Mila; siblings, Esther, Carolyn, Mike, Marvin (Sonny), and Clayton; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11 AM until the 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Grand Portage.  Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
