Rick Scheradella, 58 of Silver Bay, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 5, 1959 to Richard Sr. and Marlene (Krause) Scheradella in Waukesha, WI. Rick grew up and attended schools in Brookfield before enlisting in the Army. After his service, he obtained his Culinary Arts degree and worked as a chef in Wisconsin before moving to Lutsen. Rick met Susan Jepperson while working in Lutsen and they were married on March 16, 2003 and together they open Lemon Wolf Café in Beaver Bay. Rick cooked every meal at the restaurant for the last 18 years.
In his free time, Rick enjoyed photography, hiking, and being outdoors. His dogs were constant companions on the back roads and hiking trails where the best photos could be taken.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr. and father-in-law, William Jepperson.
Rick is survived by his wife, Susan; sons Travis (Amy) Dahle and Joshua (Cori) Dahle; grandchildren, Hayden and Olivia; mother, Marlene; brothers, Randall (Diane) and Robert; niece, Holly; mother-in-law, Marjorie Jepperson; sisters-in-law, Paulette (Robert) Dobson and Pamela (Alden) Parker; brother-in-law, Steven (Patty) Jepperson; beloved dogs, Musturd, Pickles, Gretel, and Tabitha; and love bird, Crow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Visitation will be from 9 AM until the 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial Saturday March 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Silver Bay. Burial will follow at Sawtooth Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
