Raymond Buschena

Ray Buschena, 85, Two Harbors, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center.

He was born on May 6, 1927 to Edward and Minnie (Boehnke) Buschena in St. Paul. He graduated from Fulda High School in 1946, from Dunwoody Industrial Institute in 1949, and from Nashville Automotive Diesel College in 1955. During the Korean War he served as Sergeant First Class in the 213th Field Artillery in Chorwon and Kumhwa Valley. He moved to Two Harbors in 1955 and was employed as a mechanic at Sonju Motors for 32 years, retiring in 1987. For over 50 years he enjoyed the challenge of farming in Lake County.

Ray was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church now Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nettie in 2010, brothers Charles and Roland Buschena, and a sister, Helen Opdahl.

He is survived by his son, Mark Buschena of Bismarck, ND; daughters, Diane (Rick) Buschena-Brenna of Clear Lake, MN, and Lori Buschena of Worthington; a granddaughter, Rachel Heinrichs; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors, and from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
