Ray E. Pearrow, 95, Silver Bay, died Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Lake View Hospital in Two Harbors.
Ray was born November 23, 1926 to Roy and Amanda (Shipman) Pearrow in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he grew up and attended schools. As a young man he moved to California, where he was drafted and served in the U. S. Army. After his discharge from the Army, Ray met Phyllis Smith while participating in his favorite passtime, roller skating, and after two years of dating they married in 1948. Ray and Phyllis started their family while living in Stockton, CA and during that time became a lifetime member of the Lockeford Grange. Ray had a long and varied work history, retiring as a manager for Prudential Insurance. After retiring, he and Phyllis enjoyed spending winters snowmobiling on the North Shore, and in 1998 made Silver Bay their home.
Ray was a member of the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his seven brothers, Guy, Roy, Hal, Earl, Merle, Ben, Allen and six sisters, Mamie, Juanita, Chloris, Lillian, Pearl, and Deloris; a granddaughter, Angela; and a son-in-law, Floyd.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Kathi (Jim) Freshour, Ray Pearrow Jr,, and Elizabeth Peterson; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay. Burial will be in Sawtooth Mt. Cemetery.
