Phyllis Erholtz, 89, of Two Harbors, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at Ecumen Scenic Shores in Two Harbors.
She was born on August 14, 1926 to Samuel and Sophie (Swenson) Hastings in Two Harbors, where she grew up and attended schools. After high school she was employed as telephone operator for the D M & I R Railway for many years. Phyllis moved to Duluth for a short time, later returning to Two Harbors to work as a clerk at the Community Health Center Clinic until her retirement.
Phyllis was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Women of the Moose, and women’s curling and golf leagues. She enjoyed swimming, golf, curling, sunbathing, reading, cards, music, dancing and sewing, and more than all of these, she enjoyed time spent with her family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene “Buddy” and James “Jim” Hastings.
She is survived by her sisters, Kathleen “Ole” Leist and Marilyn “Boo” (Douglas) Christenson. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.
