Oliver Thums

Oliver Thums, 88, of Isabella, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Silver Bay.
He was born on April 20, 1926 to John and Theresa (Heider) Thums in Rib Lake, WI. Ollie worked various jobs before settling in Isabella where he worked as a logger. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW in Ely.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 9 brothers; 1 sister; daughter, Kathy Pederson; and grandson, Nathan Pederson.
Ollie is survived by wife of 62 years, Mona; children Shirley, Daniel, Ronald, Mark, Michael, Dawn, David, Rosemary, and Steven; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary and Theresa.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Isabella Community Center.
