Nyles Edward Kean

Nyles Edward Kean, 71, Two Harbors, died Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Essentia Health - St. Mary’s Medical Center.

He was born November 29, 1953 in Minneapolis. At a young age, he moved to Two Harbors with his parents Thomas and Alice (Bortnem) Kean and graduated from Two Harbors High School in the Class of 1972. Ed enlisted in the Navy and served for 8 years on the USS Trippe and USS John Hancock. After his military service, Ed lived in Illinois for several years before returning to Two Harbors in 1990. He was employed at various businesses in town, most recently in maintenance for Waterview Shores.

Ed was a proud member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters. 

He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Tom (Margaret) and Jon; and grandchildren Danny, Elizabeth, MaryEtta, Brenya, Sebastien, and Kolten.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Summer of 2025.
