Norma Jean McCurdy, 86, of Silver Bay, died Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Carefree Living surrounded by family.
Jean was born on March 19, 1938 in Grifford, Indiana and spent most of her childhood in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. She married Robert McCurdy in 1956 and moved to Silver Bay shortly after.
Jean was a long-time member of Sychar Lutheran Church and active on boards and circles. She enjoyed volleyball, bowling, nightly walks with friends, card night and family time at the cabin.
Known to many as Granny, she had stories about all the kids she had on the playground and loved running into them around town.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert “Bob”; infant twin sons, Donald and Daniel; and her three brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Bobbi (Rick) Boman, Peggi (Chuck) Potter, and Donna McCurdy-Wolke (Bob) all of Silver Bay; grandchildren, Sarah Spanel, Brandon Boman, Steven Potter, Trisha Harrison, James Warzecha, Shiloh Boman, Mariah Johnson, Amanda Warzecha, Jade Albitz, Raynee Wolke, Topher Potter and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Remembrance Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 25th at Sychar Lutheran Church in Silver Bay with a Celebration of Life luncheon at the Black Beach Inn in Silver Bay following the ceremony.
