Noreen Ege, 74, formerly of Little Marais, died Monday, December 10, 2012 in Diamond Willow Lester Park Assisted Living in Duluth.
She was born July 5, 1938 to John and Clara (Venberg) Fenstad in Duluth and was a life-long resident of the North Shore at Little Marais. She was employed in the administrative offices of Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay for several years, and later as a bookkeeper for North Shore Oil. She was also the Little Marais postmaster for many years. Noreen was a member of the United Protestant Church in Silver Bay, the Little Marais Community Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, fishing, word find puzzles, motorhome traveling to other states, and family time together. In her spare time she decorated cakes for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and special events. Family and friends knew her for her piano playing. She couldn't read music, but played by ear flawlessly. Heaven is a little more musical now.
Noreen is survived by her husband, Ronald; a daughter, Diane Ege of Duluth; a son, David (Joan) Ege of St. Michael; a granddaughter, Kaitlen Ege; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at United Protestant Church in Silver Bay.
