Nicholas Holappa

Nick Holappa, 25, Two Harbors, died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 29, 2013.
He was born May 8, 1987 to Richard and Brenda (Ness) Holappa in River Falls, Wisconsin. He grew up in River Falls and Cottage Grove, Minnesota before moving to Two Harbors in 2001. In Two Harbors, he enjoyed high school sports, playing soccer, football, baseball and basketball. After graduating from Two Harbors High School in 2005, Nick served in U. S. Army until 2010. He served in the 3rd Infantry Regiment in Fort Myer, Virginia the Protectorate for the District of Columbia and Honor Guard for Arlington National Cemetery. After leaving the Army, Nick returned to Two Harbors and was employed as a cook at various restaurants.
Nick enjoyed cooking, hunting, and his dogs Sarge and Rosie.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Ness.
Nick is survived by his parents Richard and Brenda Holappa; his grandparents, Richard and Gloria Holappa, and Hanna Ness; aunts, Lana Anderson and Judy (Jim) Cooper; uncle, Mark Ness; several cousins; significant other, Julia Jones; and many friends
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Service on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery.
