Myron Vold, 66, Two Harbors, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at home.
Myron was born October 24, 1945 to Daniel and Elizabeth (Olson) Vold in Two Harbors where he was a life-long resident. He graduated from high school in 1963 and served in the U. S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He married Carol Sand in 1968 and together they raised three sons.
Myron was employed by the Two Harbors Police Department for five years and later by the Lake County Sheriff's Department for 25 years, retiring as undersheriff in 1999. He and Carol also operated the Silver Cliff Motel for 30 years. Myron was a member of the American Legion, the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, and the Minnesota Sheriff's Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Tim. Myron is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Tom (Danielle) Vold of Raleigh, North Carolina and Daniel (Nicole Myers) Vold of Fridley; grandchildren, Kara and Logan; a brother, Roderick (Mary) Vold of Blaine and a sister, Margaret (Gary) Stowe of Livingston, Montana.
Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.
