Michael D. Norlen, 48, died Friday April 15, 2016 unexpectedly in his sleep at home in Anchorage, Alaska. Mike was born April 11, 1968 in Two Harbors, MN. He spent most of his life in Northern Minnesota and then in Anchorage over the past six years. Alaska was the place he found solace and got to spend the past few years doing what he was so passionate about- fishing. We lost a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, partner & friend.
He is survived by his children, Jack, Hanna, Bria and Halie Norlen, former spouse Heather LaVoy Norlen, Duluth, MN: mother and father, Donald and Dorothy Norlen, Two Harbors, MN; his two sisters, Patricia Jo Norton and husband Paul, Anchorage, Laurie Kragseth and husband Glen, Two Harbors, MN; a special friend and partner, Leanne Barske, Anchorage; two nephews, Kyle (Jenna) Norton and Andrew Kragseth, two nieces, Brittany Norton (Ben Barcellos) and Jamie Kragseth; great niece Ivy Norton- Barcellos; two aunts and many cousins; and not to forget his bond with two special dogs, Pilot and Spencer.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Arthur and Edith Rose, and Walter and Sadie Norlen.
Services will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, Apr. 23, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Two Harbors, MN.
