Michael Mealey

Michael F. Mealey of Fargo, ND, died at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, on July 14, 2017 after a short illness.   Mike was born November 1, 1963 in Duluth, MN to William and Phyllis (Yung) Mealey.   He was raised in Two Harbors and graduated from Two Harbors High School where he participated in band, football and track.  Mike spent 4 years in the MN National Guard.  He lived in Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Duluth, Two Harbors and most recently Fargo, ND, where he found temporary construction work.

Mike was a fan of NASCAR, the MN Twins, the MN Vikings and the band Rush.  He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and reading mystery novels.  He made friends everywhere he went.

Mike had experienced tragedies earlier in life.  Sue Crosby, the mother of his two daughters passed away in 1997.  Wendy Shepherd, his wife of 4 years, passed away in 2005.

Mike is survived by his daughters, Kelly and Margaret (Ben Blomberg) Suerth, mother Phyllis, siblings Katherine (Dick) Anderson, Patrick (Sarah) Mealey, Martha (Mark) Kearin, Sharon Mealey, Janet (Geoff Warren) Mealey, 9 nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncles and cousins.  Mike is preceded in death by his wife Wendy, friend Sue Crosby, and father William.

Memorials preferred to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
