Mason Derosier

April 12, 1993 — April 9, 2015

Mason Storm DeRosier, 21, of Silver Bay died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 9, 2015.

He was born on April 12, 1993 to Richard and Lisa (Berglund) DeRosier in Two Harbors.  Mason graduated from William Kelley High School in 2011 and served in the Air National Guard as a firefighter for the 148th Fighter Wing.  He had recently returned from a deployment in Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.   Mason earned many awards and certifications to include; the Air Force Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was recently promoted to the rank of Senior Airman.  Mason was a certified EMT and had just recently enrolled in the Paramedic program at St. Cloud State University.

Hockey, golfing, and spending time in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing were among his favorite hobbies.   More than anything, Mason loved being a fire fighter for the 148th Fighter Wing.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Geraldine DeRosier and grandfather, Charles Berglund.

Mason is survived by his parents, Richard and Lisa; sisters, Melissa and Katelyn; grandfather, William DeRosier; grandmother, Bonnie Berglund; aunts and uncles Kevin Berglund, Geri (Dave) Martens, Mike (Julie) DeRosier, Karen DeRosier, and Cheryl (Gregg) Martin; and a large close knit group of cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM Celebration of Life on Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Silver Bay.
