Mary Iverson

May 19, 1930 — June 27, 2017

Mary Maxine Iverson, 87, of Silver Bay, MN and formerly of Eau Claire, WI passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2017. She fought a hard battle with Dementia and Alzheimers and once said “I am so mad at myself for leaving me.” Now she can find herself and be at peace.

Mary was born in Eau Claire, WI to Ralph and Delia Robinson on May 19, 1930.  She lived a full and happy life filled with so many memories.

After graduation, she became a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. in Eau Claire. She married Gerald Iverson an Aug. 11, 1951. They moved from Eau Claire to Silver Bay, MN in 1957and there they raised their family. She enjoyed going to the cabin on Gilmore Lake in Minong, WI, always spending much time with her family. She loved baseball and watching Jerry, her son Jeff, and her grandson Kasey play. Always keeping score on her little notepad. She also had a special bond to her granddaughter Karly.

She enjoyed walking, gardening, dancing, country music festivals, and the Twins and Vikings. But above all, she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Karen (Robert) Handberg, her son Jeffery (Olga) Iverson, her grandchildren Karly (Lucas Olson) Fransen and Kasey Kelly. Her great-grandchildren Hannah, Ethan, Mollie, and Lucy. Her sisters Lois Rosentrater, Alice Mae (Jim) Tuller and sister in-law Donna Peterson.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life Jerry, her mother and father, and brothers in-law Bud Rosentrater and Red Peterson.

She will be in our hearts forever. A graveside memorial for the family will be held at a later date.
