Marlene Mattson

Marlene Mattson, 88, of Two Harbors, died Monday, May 16, 2022 at Edgewood Assisted Living in Hermantown.

Marlene was born June 18, 1933 to Hilmer and Violet (Barthell) Sunde in Knife River and graduated from Clover Valley High School.   She was employed at several financial institutions for many years, the longest being at St. Louis County Federal Savings and Loan as a loan officer and Vice President.

Marlene was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed driving, traveling, gardening, and time with family and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Louis Murphy, Stanley Viktora and Lester Mattson.

She is survived by her son, Dana (Sally) Murphy; grandchildren, Ryan Murphy and Danielle Murphy (Wade Braaten) and her son, Tanner; a step-son, James (JoAnn) Mattson and their family; and close friend, Sheila Leppala.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
