Marilyn Peterson, 84, Two Harbors, died Friday January 27, 2012 in Ecumen Scenic Shores.
She was born September 12, 1927 in Superior, Wisconsin to Victor and Selma (Erickson) Johnson, where she grew up and graduated from Superior Central High in 1945. She attended Duluth Business University and worked for Pickands Mathers Mining Company in Duluth for eight years. After her marriage to Lloyd Peterson April 16, 1955, she moved to Two Harbors and later worked as a secretary at Two Harbors City Hall for 23 years.
Marilyn was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Women of the Moose and women's golf and bowling leagues. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and following her retirement - winters in Las Vegas with her husband. Time with friends and family were important to her, especially time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her only sibling, Constance Wangles.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; sons, Brian (Laurie) of Woodbury and Robert (Karen) of Minneapolis; a daughter, Nancy (Rick) Kienzle of Island Lake; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Kyle) Mullen, Ben Peterson, Stacie Peterson, Jenny Kienzle, Nikki Kienzle, Ted Jorstad, and Marie Peterson; a great-granddaughter, Gabby Mullen; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from Noon until the 1 PM service on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery
