Marian Abbott

Marian Abbott, 84, Two Harbors, stepped into eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in the Sunrise Home while surrounded by her family.

Marian was born January 6, 1926 to George and Marie (Melbo) Waldron in Two Harbors, where she grew up and attended schools. She also lived in Beaver Bay and Duluth for several years, and was employed as a waitress at various restaurants, and later worked in the laundry at Lake View Memorial Hospital.

Marian was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Women of the Moose and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed photography, crocheting, making afghans and baking cookies.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Jessie, brothers, Ralph and Darrell Waldron, sisters, Betty Nelson and Rose Willis, her husband, John Abbott, a daughter, Shirley Kelly and a grandson Billy Christensen.

She is survived by five sons, Russell (Barbara) and Bruce (Susan) Hansen, Darrell (Faye) Hansen, and George (Earlene) Hansen and Robert Raymond; a daughter, Nancy Hansen; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy and DelRay Waldron; and sister, Delores Salakka.

Mother will be missed by her family and friends with sadness and joy. Her greatest joy in life was to have her family together as often as possible.

Visitation will be from 1 PM until the 2 PM service on Monday December 13, 2010 at Living Waters Fellowship in Two Harbors. Private burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery at a later date.
