Margaret Oling

Margaret "Dolly" Oling, 91, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Ecumen Scenic Shores.

She was born July 11, 1919 to Carl and Inga (Sallness) Johnson in Two Harbors, where she was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1938 and later that year married Wilbur Oling. Together they operated the State Grill for several years. Dolly was a full-time mother of five children and also worked part-time for her brother at Johnson Funeral Home for 25 years.

Dolly was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she also enjoyed her church women's circle, and was a charter member of the V F W Auxiliary. After her children left home, she was known in the Segogg neighborhood, as the sucker lady because she gave suckers to any child who came to her door a�" she loved all kids!

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband a�" Wilbur; brothers, Earl "Hort", Clarence "Booksa", and Parnell Johnson, sisters, Evelyn Dinneen, Irene Nault, Harriet Knight, and Jeanette Simola; and granddaughters, Kimberly Walz and Pamela Andler.

Dolly is survived by her sons, Jay (Carol) and Charles both of Two Harbors and Lee (Kay) of Duluth; daughters, Sandy Andler of Duluth and Susan Walz of Aberdeen, South Dakota; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Tuesday April 26, 2011at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Two Harbors.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ecumen Scenic Shores their wonderful care, and give a special thank you to Holly Graham for being at Dolly's Bedside.
