Mabel Sande, 106, Two Harbors, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Barross House, where she had lived for several years.
Mabel was born December 20, 1908 to Anton and Anna (Rono) Sande in Two Harbors where she was a life-long resident. She was employed as a clerk at the former Co-op Grocery Store for 37 years, retiring in 1972.
Mabel was a long-time and active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and served on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club, Vasa Lodge and the Silvertones, and volunteered for the Salvation Army and Lake County Community Services.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her brothers, Reuben, Bennie, and Arnold; and a sister, Edna Brickley.
Mabel is survived by a brother, Norman Sande of Portland, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews that will remember her with love.
Mabel’s family would like to thank the staff at Barross House for the loving care they provided.
Visitation will be from Noon until the 1 PM service on Saturday September 12, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
