Lucille A. “Bubbles” Johnson, 95, of Two Harbors, died Friday, November 11, 2022 at Barross Cottage.
Lucille was born March 9, 1927 to Gothard David and Victoria (Holm) Bystedt in Two Harbors where she was a lifelong resident. After high school, she worked for the DM& IR Railroad as a telephone operator for several years. After her marriage to Leonard Johnson in 1955, she was a homemaker through the years and later worked at various jobs including as a dietary aide at the high school and Wells Fargo Bank.
Bubbles was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and its Women’s Circle, VASA Lodge, and the VFW Auxiliary where she was a past president.
She enjoyed dancing at the Knife River Valley Club, oil painting, reading, sewing, and gardening. Bubbles also enjoyed time at the family cabin at Kane Lake and later time at the hunting shack.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a son-in-law, Michael Harrison; a grandson, Erick Harrison.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Harrison, Kathryn (James) Murphy, and Carol (Rick) Nolander; her sons, Mitchell and Steven Johnson; grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Maggie, John, Aaron, and Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Adalind, Judson, Piper, Simon, Scarlett, Noah, Leland, Alias, and Isabel.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the 11 AM service on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
