Lois Mae Vontin, 88, of Two Harbors, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, surrounded by family.
Lois was born on March 13, 1929 in Two Harbors to Herman and Alva (Pearson) Peterson. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in the class of 1947. She worked as a telephone operator and also for the school district in Two Harbors for years.
Lois married Wallace Vontin December 4, 1954 and was married for 53 years. They enjoyed their time at the cabin with the kids, boating, and spending weekend getaways together. They also loved camping in their little trailer to local lakes and campgrounds. Lois was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed baking cookies, bars, rye bread, and was an amazing cook. She loved spending her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved her special dog Lacey.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace, and brothers, Wilbur and Richard.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Terry) Forsell, and Nancy Hassett, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Evans, and Carol Houle, and numerous nieces and nephews.
