Lois Oberg, 82, of Two Harbors died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
She was born on January 15, 1934 to Donald and Edith (McCleary) Trafford in Lewiston, ME where she grew up and attended schools. Lois married Dennis Oberg and moved to Two Harbors where she was employed as a waitress at various restaurants and as dog catcher for the City of Two Harbors.
Lois enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, canning, cribbage, feeding and watching birds, and traveling home to Maine. She also loved knitting mittens for the needy, donating over 300 pair a year to the Salvation Army and other organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; and great-grandson, Aidan Mueller.
Lois is survived by her children, Ernie Trafford, Melody (Brent) Olson, Penny (Ronald) Winter, and Terrance Oberg; 3 sisters, Marcia (Jimmy) Cavers, Sande Newton, Patty (Bill) Jacobson; a brother, Joe Trafford; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and the love of her life, her cat Duke.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 12, 20016 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors.
