Polly Nelson, 73, of Grand Marais died Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Cook County North Shore Care Center.
She was born on March 16, 1942 to Edward and Dorothy (Greenley) Lehto in Wisconsin, moving to Grand Marais in 1950. She was employed as a receptionist at the Cook County North Shore Hospital for many years, and enjoyed other jobs and interests throughout her life also, including drawing and photographing the natural world.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, step-father, Fred Holm and a sister, Robyn.
Polly is survived by her husband, Gary; daughters, Doretta (Doug) Nelson-Busbey of Brainerd, Kathryn (Mark) Nelson-Pedersen of Grand Marais, and Stephanee (Ron) Nelson-Everson of Brainerd; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Lehto of Hovland; sisters, Jean Hendrickson of Anoka; and Cindy Montgomery of Grand Marais; nieces Tarra and Kayla, nephew Reed, and their mother Karen; and many other extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday July 29, 2015 at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Grand Marais.
