Lois A. Miller, 78, formerly of Two Harbors, died Monday December 31, 2012 in Glenwood, Iowa.
She was born August 13, 1934 to Ernst and Marjorie Pontow in Hastings, Iowa. She moved to Two Harbors with her family when she was 14, graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1952 and married Robert D. Miller June 12, 1954. Lois was employed by Lake Superior School District for 28 years working as a school secretary at the John A. Johnson Elementary, Minnehaha Middle School and the North Shore Elementary. She later worked at Irresistible Ink in Two Harbors. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Two Harbors, its Naomi Circle, and the social concerns committee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband - Robert in 1995, a son - Bradley in 1977, aunt - Vivian Priest, sister - Betty Nicholson in 1995, and nieces - Kathy Skoog Larson, Nancy Skoog, and Jana Wick.
Lois is survived by her son - Mitch (Robin) Miller of Malvern, Iowa; grandsons - Brad and Matt of Malvern; a great-grandson, Christian James Miller; sister - Jane (Donald) Wick of Castle Danger; AFS son - Kazuki (Eriko) Mori of Kyoto, Japan and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11 AM Saturday January 5, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
