Lois Erickson

Lois Erickson, 102, formerly of Two Harbors, died Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Hilltop Nursing Home in Duluth.

Lois was born on September 24, 1921, in Two Harbors to Thor and Gertrude Ryan. She married Marvin Erickson in 1941. She lived most of her life in Two Harbors and resided the past several years in Duluth at Mt. Royal Pines Assisted Living.

 

Lois worked as a secretary for the D M & I R in its Duluth offices, retiring in her early sixties. Following retirement, she spent many years as a volunteer in several capacities. She especially enjoyed her many hours volunteering at Lake View Hospital and the Two Harbors Library.

 

Lois enjoyed time spent with her family and traveling in her earlier years. She recently said, “I’m a tough Norwegian”, and was active and relatively healthy until a few days before her 102nd birthday.

 

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; sons, Jay, Donald, and Rodney Erickson; a grandson, Barry Bustrom; and brothers, Curtis Ryan and Loren Nelson.

 

She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Bustrom; son, Keith Erickson; grandchildren, Peter (Selena) Erickson, Kirk (Victoria) Bustrom, Heidi (Chad) Frantz, Jesse Erickson, Nolan Erickson, and Marisha (Matt) Fenner; great-grandchildren, Brian, Alec (Jillian) and Kate (Lee) Bustrom, Ellie Erickson, Logan and Bailey (Nicole) Frantz, and Gwendolyn Fenner; and a great-great-grandson, Archer Frantz.

 

Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday December 30, 2023, at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors, with light refreshments served. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
