Lloyd Hendrickson

Lloyd Hendrickson, 89, Grand Portage, died Monday, March 14, 2011 in the North Shore Care Center.
Lloyd was born November 4, 1921 in Two Harbors to Leonard and Elvira (Peterson) Hendrickson. He grew up in Grand Portage and attended school there. After his marriage to Fern Smith on March 11, 1939, they made their home at Hat Point in Grand Portage.
Lloyd worked as a school bus driver, and in road construction, but his life-long work and enjoyment came from commercial fishing.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Fern, a son, Stephen, a grandson, Dale, and a brother, LeRoy He is survived by sons, Edward "Ole" of Grand Marais, Dorn "Ike" (Jean) of Anoka, and Gary (Mary ) of Oklahoma; daughters, Beth (Dennis) Goman of Big Lake, Nola Lindskog of Battle Mountain, NV, Carol (Jeff) Conners of Washington and Naida "Penny" (Bruce) Brisson of Grand Marais; grandchildren, Nick, Bruce, Eric, Kim, Ed, Rod, Roberta, Carol, Tammy, Craigmichael, Vernon and Steve; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Deschampe and Betty Bates; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from Noon until the 1 PM service on Saturday, March 19 2011 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Grand Marais. Burial will be in Mineral Center Cemetery.
