Kent Richard Hill, 59, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 8th, 2024, in Cotton, MN.
He was born on January 14th, 1965, in Duluth, MN at St Luke’s Hospital. He was blessed to be a twin; his brother Kevin passed away as an infant.
Kent graduated from Duluth East High School in 1983. He moved to Las Vegas in 1986 to pursue his love of sports and the culinary world. He worked for many high-end Las Vegas restaurants including Emeril Lagasse’s Steakhouse, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill. Due to his excellent personality, compassion, outstanding memory and knowledge of the industry, he gained many loyal customers from all over the world who requested him as a server.
Since he grew up at the family cabin on Rose Lake, it was natural for Kent to return to his northern Minnesota roots in 2021. He worked at the Wilbert Cafe/El Toro Lounge in Cotton, MN for the past few years and reconnected with many lifelong friends and made many new friends in the process.
Kent had a passion for family, friends, sports, restaurants, cooking and “everything food”, along with creating and trying new recipes. He had a heart of GOLD and was a one-of-a-kind individual that everyone gravitated to. He had a special place in his heart for his beloved daughter Alexandra Wilcox (Lisa Uremovich), his granddaughter Charlie Wilcox and the entire Uremovich family.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Dagmar and Richard “Dick” Hill, brother Kevin John Hill and son-in-law Randy Wilcox.
Kent is survived by his daughter Alexandra, granddaughter Charlie, sisters Kim (Ron), Kirby (Mike) and Kelly (Doug), cherished family members Arianna and Isabella (John Demos/Lisa Uremovich), along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
