Ken Kari, 74, Two Harbors, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at home.
He was born January 5, 1944 to Elmer and Evi (Erickson) Kari in Two Harbors where he was a lifelong resident. Ken was a 1962 graduate of Two Harbors High School and served in the US Army from 1964-1967. He served at the US Embassy in Tehran, Iran, obtaining the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in February of 1967.
Ken was employed by the United States Forest Service, Midland Cooperative, ABEX Corporation, and retired from the Minnesota Department of Revenue in June 2002 after 33 years of service.
He had an interest in automotives, especially older Fords.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Roy M. Kari, a nephew, Alan Plante; and a great-niece Nicole Plante.
He is survived by a brother, Ron Kari of Two Harbors; a sister, Anita (John) Haider of Oakdale; nieces and nephews, Dianne, Richard, Rhonda, Jamie and Jackie; many great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 PM Service on Tuesday, April 17 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors. Burial with military honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
