Kathleen Svee

Kathy Svee, 78, formerly of Two Harbors, passed away peacefully in Crosby, MN on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Kathy was born September 19, 1943, to Anton and Nancy (Holm) Olson in Two Harbors. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1961 and was crowned Miss Two Harbors in 1962. She was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters and later worked as a bookkeeper at Svee Distributing, Lakeview Memorial Hospital, LaBounty Manufacturing, and the Sunrise Home. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed her Swedish time with GOTA LEJON No. 251 Vasa Lodge. Kathy loved Lake Superior, the breakwater, and feeding seagulls with her grandchildren. In 2019, after spending 76 years in Two Harbors, she moved to Crosby. She enjoyed being part of the Heartwood community and being closer to her family.

Kathy’s greatest joy was time spent with her family. She loved to host holiday gatherings, plan family reunions, and visit relatives. Kathy enjoyed crocheting, baking, gardening, traveling, playing Bridge, having coffee with friends, and attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Darrell Olson, brother Herbert “Crunch” Olson and sister-in-law June, sister Janet Reinke and brother-in-law Harvey, sister Mary Reinke and brother-in-law Floyd “Bud,” sister Mae Moore and brother-in-law Tom, nieces Nancy Pierce, Jeanne Gage, Debby Christensen, and Jill Suomi and nephew Brent Olson.

Kathy is survived by her children: Sharri (Rob) Westin of Crosby and Connie (Kirk) Linse of Lakeville; grandchildren Ben, Paige, Ruby, Anna & AJ Westin, and Spencer & Reed Linse; sister-in-law Pearl “Janet” Olson, and many nieces and nephews.
